are pregnant

The first time when you see a positive test it gives you a whole new feeling. For those who were planning its full of happiness and joy but on the other hand for those who were not planning to have a child it comes as a shock.Whatever is that case later on it develops into the same big feeling of motherhood, having a child and so many new thoughts every day.

Though nothing shows up during first month or rather the first trimester but it is indeed one of the most important time of pregnancy. The first thing we wonder is when the baby is due??????? The easiest way to calculate your due date is from the first day of your last menstrual period, count back three months and add one week.

The first month is when the sperm joins the egg and the journey of motherhood begins. The first trimester is considered to be most important as the chances of miscarriage is higher in the first trimester then any other. So pregnant women are suggested to take rest and not to jump or lift heavy weight.

After you come to know that you are pregnant the next question is What Next?????
The next step is to select an ob/gyn and fixing up and appointment.Your doc would also suggest you prenatal vitamins which are also very important and should be taken throughout the pregnancy.

For any other questions of pregnancy weeks 1-5 you are most welcome and I would like to provide a solution based on my research and knowledge.

Cheers!!!!!!!!!

Am I pregnant????????

Do you think you are?If yes then read on..........There are some common symptoms that most of the females observe but its said that every woman has different symptom or rather combination of symptoms.Infact they can vary in different pregnancies of same woman. This blog is useful if you think you might be pregnant, or if you are a first timer or if you are interested in knowing about the symptoms.
I would try to explain the symptoms and reasons that may cause them apart from pregnancy. As they can be caused by some other reasons.First and most assuring is a missed period.

1.Implantation Bleeding : Implantation bleeding can be one of the earliest pregnancy symptoms. About 6-12 days after conception, the embryo implants itself into the uterine wall. Some women will experience spotting as well as some cramping. Not all women would experience this.Other reasons why something like this can happen are :
Actual menstruation, altered menstruation, changes in birth control pill, infection, or abrasion from intercourse.

2.Swollen/Tender breasts : Swollen or tender breasts is a pregnancy symptom which may begin as early as 1-2 weeks after conception. Women may notice changes in their breasts; they may be tender to the touch, sore, or swollen. As per my understanding this is most common symptom and mostly all women feel this.Other most likely reasons for breast tenderness are:
Hormonal imbalance, birth control pills, impending menstruation (PMS) can also cause your breasts to be swollen or tender.

3.Fatigue/Tiredness : Feeling fatigued or more tired is a pregnancy symptom which can also start as early as the first week after conception. It lasts for first trimester and the relaxed during second. It comes back with more force in last trimester.Other reasons for this could be:
Stress, exhaustion, depression, common cold or flu, or other illnesses can also leave you feeling tired or fatigued.

4.Nausea/Morning Sickness : This well-known pregnancy symptom will often show up between 2-8 weeks after conception. Some women are fortunate to not deal with morning sickness at all, while others will feel nauseous throughout most of their pregnancy.Other reasons for morning sickness could be:
Food poisoning, stress, or other stomach disorders can also cause you to feel queasy.

5.Backaches : Lower backaches may be a symptom that occurs early in pregnancy; however, it is common to experience a dull backache throughout an entire pregnancy.Other reasons of backache may be :
Impending menstruation, stress, other back problems, and physical or mental strains.

6.Headaches : The sudden rise of hormones in your body can cause you to have headaches early in pregnancy.Other explanations for this could be:
Dehydration, caffeine withdrawal, impending menstruation, eye strain, or other ailments can be the source of frequent or chronic headaches.

7.Frequent Urination : Around 6-8 weeks after conception, you may find yourself making a few extra trips to the bathroom.Other reasons causing this could be:
Urinary tract infection, diabetes, increasing liquid intake, or taking excessive diuretics.

8.Darkening of Areolas : If you are pregnant, the skin around your nipples may get darker.Other explanation for this are:
Hormonal imbalance unrelated to pregnancy or may be a leftover effect from a previous pregnancy.

9.Food Cravings : While you may not have a strong desire to eat pickles and ice cream, many women will feel cravings for certain foods when they are pregnant. This can last throughout your entire pregnancy.Other explanation for food cravings are:
Poor diet, lack of a certain nutrient, stress, depression, or impending menstruation.

Hope it helps you understand different symptoms and their other causes. If you need some more explanation about any of these or some other symptom that is not listed above let me know will try to provide you as much information as I can.

Looking forward for your comments.Enjoy your pregnancy.

Being Pregnant

Pregnancy...........a nine month journey filled with dreams, hopes and a lot of new thoughts everyday.Though everyone has a different experience but the feeling of being MoM brings same joy that cant be expressed in words. This is my first pregnancy and I live with my husband away from family and friends. So there is no one to help or fill my life with those never ending suggestions of what to do and what Not to.

Therefore I decided to help my self and started reading about being pregnant on the internet from books etc.It has been Six months and I still find stuff that is worth reading on the topic. It has been a great help also.Having acquired some knowledge I thought of creating a Blog where I can put everything that I have been reading and learning about it.So that this can be a single point of contact for those who are expecting for all their doubts and questions.

Yes your comments, questions and suggestions are welcome.Lets make someone else's pregnancy easier.Ladies, from today on I will be updating this blog with topics that might be of your interest and useful too.

Cheers!!!!!!
